MSA - Charleston Partnerships

Meeting Street Academy is fortunate to have the support of many local businesses that provide various programs for its students.  For information about how your business can partner with Meeting Street Academy, please contact the school.

Medical University of South Carolina

MUSC provides numerous services to MSA students including on-site medical, dental, and vision screenings; learn-to-swim classes; and the “Junior Doctors of Health program,” a preventative health education curriculum taught by MUSC students.  MUSC also conducts nutrition classes for MSA parents.

Mayor Joe Riley and the City of Charleston

The support of Mayor Joseph P. Riley and the City of Charleston has been crucial to the establishment and success of MSA.  Mayor Riley orchestrated a transaction whereby the City Council agreed to purchase the site for MSA-Charleston and lease it to MSA for a nominal fee.

Blackbaud

Blackbaud generously provides volunteers for Meeting Street Academy throughout the academic year.

College of Charleston

Students of the College of Charleston’s School of Education visit MSA regularly to observe and present to our classes. The College has been very supportive of our mission, and many of our volunteers are College of Charleston students.

Porter Gaud School

Porter Gaud School provides student volunteers and tutors for Meeting Street Academy. Our students also interact with each other for special events such as performances and celebrations.

Charleston Academy of Music

CAM and MSA have partnered to provide all of our first and second grade students with the opportunity to play a stringed instrument.  Orchestra practice takes place four times per week at MSA.

LAPS

LAPS provides weekly swimming lessons to our Kindergarten and 1st grade students and monthly swimming lessons to our 2nd and 4th grade students.

Children's Museum of the Lowcountry

Children's Museum of the Lowcountry provides afternoon programs to our second grade students.  Each series has a different focus; such as science, literacy or art.

Ashley Hall School

Ashley Hall partners with our 3rd grade class to provide monthly swimming lessons, as well as exciting and educational field trips throughout the school year.

Charleston Day School

Charleston Day School's 8th grade students coordinate and lead various clubs for our extended day program throughout the school year.

First Tee of Greater Charleston

First Tee of Charleston provides golf lessons for our 3rd grade students.  The program builds character, instills life-enhancing values, and promotes healthy choices through the game of golf.
